La Puerta de Agave Añejo

Artisanal tequila from San Juanito de Escobedo, Jalisco.

Eighteen months in American oak barrels give this aged expression its gold color and a warm profile of cooked agave, wood, and honey, with a caramel finish that stays on the palate. It is a tequila to drink slowly. Before barrel aging, the agave is cooked in a masonry oven, crushed, fermented wild, and distilled in copper stills, with Antonio Gaytán Barboza directing the process.

History and heritage · La Puerta de Agave

Artisanal tequila from San Juanito de Escobedo, Jalisco.

Puerta de Agave is a tequila made by hand, born from the working hands of a town with history and tradition.

Its process keeps the methods of traditional tequila: cooking in masonry ovens, wild fermentation, and distillation in copper stills.

From that comes a tequila with character, a defined aroma, a clear alcoholic presence, and a balanced body.

It is drunk neat and works equally well in cocktails, especially in clay cups, one of the signature drinks of the Ruta del Tequila: tequila with fresh grapefruit, orange, lime, and lemon, served in a clay cup.

Part of its inspiration comes from that Jalisco custom.
